Privacy Policy

Trailwave does not require an account, login, or signup to use the app.

Information Stored by the App

Trailwave may store the following user-provided information on the device:

  • Callsign
  • Grid square / location
  • Optional operating and logging settings
  • Locally created QSO and hunted park records

How That Information Is Used

Your callsign and grid square are used to support features inside the app, such as:

  • identifying you when posting a spot
  • calculating map distance and bearing
  • supporting logging and hunting history features

This information is stored locally on your device as part of the app's settings and local data.

What Trailwave Does Not Do

Trailwave does not:

  • require you to create an account
  • require you to sign in
  • collect personal information for analytics or advertising
  • transmit your callsign, grid square, or local log data to a remote service by default

When Information May Be Transmitted

Your information is only transmitted off your device when you explicitly use a feature that depends on an external service, such as:

  • submitting a spot to POTA.app
  • sending a log entry to QRZ or another logging service you have configured

In those cases, Trailwave sends only the information required to complete the action you requested.

Summary

Trailwave is designed to work without an account and to keep your information local by default. If data leaves your device, it does so because you chose to use a feature that communicates with POTA.app or another service you configured.
